Does Slack show when I am on mobile?

No, Slack does not show other users when you are using the mobile app.

While your status indicates whether you are active or idle, it does not specify which device you are using.

Other users can see if you are online, but they cannot tell if you are accessing Slack from a mobile device or a desktop.

What other users can see:

  • Active Status: Users can see if you are online or offline.
  • Idle Status: If you are inactive for a certain period, your status may change to "away" or "idle."

What other users cannot see:

  • Device Information: There is no indication of whether you are on a mobile phone, tablet, or computer.
  • Specific App Usage: Users cannot see if you are using the mobile app, web browser, or desktop application.

In summary, while Slack shows your online status to other users, it does not disclose whether you are on a mobile device. This helps ensure your privacy while using the platform.

Mobile users tend to go online/offline constantly. That's how you might know that someone is on mobile.
